*Limited Edition 12" Pressing* | ESQUIMAUX EP
Debuting in 2016, the EP "Esquimaux" is a bundle of instrumental hip-hop and upbeat funk songs I wrote over the year. Containing samples and live-played instrumentals, the EP has influences from regions and genres over the world.
Esquimaux quickly became popular and saw the light in Bandcamp's "top-selling" in the early days of 2017. After nearly three years, it decided to finally eternalize itself in the form of physical matter, as it is coming out on vinyl. As Esquimaux' top-comments on YouTube and SoundCloud generally consist of comments that claim the songs are "way too short", this vinyl pressing has the popular joints - "Esquimaux", "Fénice", "Plume" and "Kenji" - extended to fit the complete A- and B-side. Never heard before.
Even though not originally belonging in the Esquimaux EP, "ILY" is appearing as a bonus track on this vinyl pressing. With the nostalgic yet funky vibe of "ILY" matching the EP completely however, it cannot be said to be a misfit within the compilation.
Artwork orginally made by Naritttt, has been modified (with his approval) by me. The beautiful cover shows a standing girl wandering around in her personal dream-esque landscape of clouds and water, holding tight to the entity that seems to move her through space and time. A picture you can both lose and find yourself in and a picture that I honestly find extremely fitting for the songs on this EP.

A few months after Rogier's initial start in the music industry, he quickly got a big record deal with Bad Panda Records, as "Detached", his song with Peter Kuli, got released through the Trinidad & Tobago's label.
Fast forward a few months, and thousands of notable film- and documentary-makers among which New York „YouTuber of the Year 2016“ Casey Neistat, Mark Rober from California with several million subscribers are regularly playing Rogier's music in their videos. An even higher number of small, unknown YouTubers from numerous countries keep using Rogier's tracks. This combination helped (and still helps) his music spread insanely quick and internationally. Resulting in a true international fanbase on both Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud. His quickly growing following didn't go unnoticed and he and his music has been featured on famous music-blogs including but not limited to, Stereofox, SoundwallMag, Indiemono, Groovilant, ear tapas, Acid Stag, etc.
With tons of music in his private vaults waiting to be released, as well as the surpassing of 10 million international downloads and plays in 2019, it’s safe to say that Rogyr is back.
